Our visit to Sizergh Castle & Gardens, near Kendal, Cumbria, LA8 8DZ, is on Thursday 30th May 2024. We travel by minibus, driven by Dave, and leave from Tesco Car Park, bus stop A, at 9:45am and return at 3:30pm, expecting to at arrive in Leyland at 4:30pm. The cost is £21.50 (£8.50 for National Trust members) including transport & entry fee in full price, subject to minimum numbers of 16. Description of the Trip

Sizergh Castle is a grade 1 listed building owned by the National Trust . This beautiful medieval manor is filled with items collected by 26 generations of the Strickland family, including the internationally recognised Inlaid Chamber. The grade 2 listed gardens include a mirror lake, colourful herbaceous border, working kitchen garden, apple orchard and limestone rock garden. Take a picnic or have lunch in the café ,which serves hot meals, drinks and snacks using seasonal produce grown in the garden. There is also a second hand bookshop in the barn.
