Our visit to Lancaster Castle and City is on Thursday 27th February 2025. We will travel by minibus, driven by Dave, and leave from Tesco Car Park, bus stop A, at 9:30am. We leave Lancaster for Leyland at 3:30pm arriving about 4:30 the cost is £13.00, including a guided tour of the Castle but not including food, which is available in the city. Description of Trip
Lancaster Castle often known as John O’ Gaunt’s and is one of the most fascinating surviving historical buildings in the country. The castle was used as a prison until 2011 and is where Ruth Ellis was the last woman to be hanged in the UK. Note: The Castle has uneven surfaces and steps, throughout.
Afterwards there will be free time to explore Lancaster City.
