Our visit to the famous Jodrell Bank telscope is on Friday 22nd March 2024. We travel by minibus and leave from Tesco Car Park, bus stop A, at 10.00 am and return at 4:00pm from the Car/Coach park where dropped off and we expect to at arrive in Leyland at 5:00pm. Travel is by minibus and costs £17.00 including transport & entry fee*, subject to minimum numbers of 10. Meals are not included but there are café facilities on site, or take a picnic. Description of the Trip
Discover the wonders of the universe at the world-famous Jodrell Bank Observatory, the home of the impressive Lovell telescope, a giant, near 90m high radio telescope. There are over 35 acres of gardens and grounds as well as extensive exhibitions and interactive displays. Visit the cafe with an incredible view of the Lovell telescope.
*There is free entry into the Space Dome to watch an immersive exhibition film. You can also choose to see either/or both of two films in the Dome at an additional cost of £5 each. The first is at 12.00 MD on the Big Bang theory; the second at 2.30 pm on the first moon landing in 1969. Each of 30 mins duration.
