Background
Are you an experienced knitter, crocheter or crafter looking for a friendly group to join – or maybe you have decided that you would like to learn a new handicraft?
The Knitting Crochet and Handmade Crafts Group meets every Wednesday (except for 2nd Wednesday of the month) in the comfortable meeting rooms of Northbrook House, Leyland to work on our own projects, group projects or share our knowledge and skills with each other.
We knit, crochet, stitch and much more! Each month we try to offer a varied agenda including knitalongs, trips to handicraft exhibitions, charity handicraft projects or perhaps a ‘swap shop’ so that members can refresh or reduce their stash of materials.
Whether you are an experienced handcrafter or a complete novice you will be made very welcome by the group – just call one of our Group Leaders if you’d like to know more.
Some of our work for charity
Octopuses (see picture left) are being knitted/crocheted for the Sharoe Green Unit to sell in their shop at Baby Beat. The funds raised go to buy equipment for their unit. We have delivered baby blankets, cardigans and hats for newborn babies to Baby Beat.
Presently, knitters are busy doing sets (see picture left) comprising cardigan/hat/bootees – again for Baby Beat. If you want to know how to help Baby Beat raise funds to help newborn babies and their families, please look at their website.
